Park, Clubhouse, and Valley

Whether it is competitive swimming at the Winterset Park Pool, zero-depth entry and rain-umbrella at the Clubhouse Pool, or extensive waterslide and sunning deck at the Valley pool, you will never run out of places to cool off in the summer.

The Neighborhoods of Winterset boast over 5 miles of walking trails through naturally beautiful wooded areas. There are also numerous "pocket parks" as well as several butterfly parks. A breath of fresh air is never far away.

Two of the three community pools are geared specifically for children, with zero entry slopes and water park features. Opening spring 2008, the Winterset Valley pool and cabana will also showcase a state of the art slide. Competitive swimmers can also join the Winterset Sharks swim team, which practices in one of the competition size pools. The community center may also be used at very little cost for birthday parties, swim parties, receptions, meetings, or other events by scheduling with the full time community association staff.

Many clubs offer residents a chance to meet new friends including the recently established Gale Communities Home & Garden Club. Whether you enjoy Bunco, card games, golf, gardening, or just an occasional BBQ, Winterset Valley provides many opportunities for down time with friends.

All of this sits just a short bicycle ride away from over 5,000 acres of parkland grounds surrounding Longview Lake. In addition to boating and fishing at Longview Lake, there are ball fields, two public golf courses, shelter areas for friendly gatherings and/or cook outs, and an extensive network of walking/biking trails.
